Sesame Street will go on tour this summer to celebrate 50 years on air

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Sesame Street is going on tour to record episodes with local kids!

The tour is a way of celebrating the show being on the air for the last 50 years.

The muppets will spend the tour in ten different cities beginning in June.STARTING JUNE FIRST.

There will be free festivals and live performances in all cities on the tour. Additionally, they will have many different activities such as treasure digs, giant mazes, and pictures with the cast.

Segments will also be recorded with local kids in which they will show off people and places that make each community great.

While the tour will not be making a stop in Nashville, a few of the cities within driving distance made the list:

June 1: New York City
June 8: Washington, D.C.
June 15: Pittsburgh
June 22: Detroit
July 6: Dallas
July 13: Kansas City
July 20: Denver
July 27: Seattle
Aug. 3: Los Angeles.
