MOUNT JULIET, Tenn. (WTVF) — Mount Juliet police arrested a 29-year-old man following a chase and subsequent search of a neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.
A shelter-in-place was issued for neighbors in the Secretariat Drive area of Mt. Juliet during the search.
Police say three people ran from an officer after a traffic stop on Secretariat Drive.
Officers were able to catch two of the people. The third ran into a home in the 1100 block of Secretariat Drive.
The subject, believed to be inside the home, has been identified. He is also known to frequent this particular address. It is unclear who all is inside the home. Officers have personally instructed nearby residents to shelter-in-Place until the incident is resolved. pic.twitter.com/2egNDRd6SD

The shelter-in-place was lifted later Tuesday evening after Tennille Reece surrendered to police. The Mt. Juliet man was charged with resisting a stop and drug possession. Officers reported he had alprazolam and heroin on him when he surrendered.
The suspect exited the home and surrendered without further incident. We are thankful for a peaceful resolution. The area should be clearing soon, and residents no longer need to shelter-in-place. More details to come.
