NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Shonka Dukureh — the actress who played Big Mama Thornton in the most recent "Elvis" movie — died overnight.
She was 44.
Metro Nashville Police Department said no foul play was suspected, and she was found dead in the bedroom of her Kothe Way apartment with her two young children.
Dukureh was a graduate of Fisk University.
