CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A shooting in Clarksville late Friday night have left police searching for a shooter.

Officers were called to Iris Lane around 11:50 p.m. for a shooting that had taken place, police said. When they arrived on the scene, they found a 25-year-old male victim shot, inside a vehicle.

The victim was transported by Lifeflight to a Nashville hospital. He is stable, but he remains in critical condition.

Officers believe an Iris Lane resident was expecting the victim's arrival and was on the phone with him. When the Iris Lane resident heard what sounded like fireworks, the phone connection was lost.

The resident went outside, found the victim shot and called 911.

Police found another resident in the area who also heard the gunshots and went outside. That person witnessed a white Dodge Challenger or Charger drive north on Iris Lane and turn onto Mallard Drive.
