Metro Nashville Police officials asked for the public's help in their search for a suspect wanted in connection to a deadly shooting at a South Nashville apartment complex.

According to police, 31-year-old William Lee III was shot and killed by 28-year-old Pavan Voleti at the Brighton Valley Apartments on Brooksboro Terrace, located not far from Murfreesboro Pike around noon Monday.

Officers said Voleti was outside his ex-girlfriend’s apartment when she and Williams got into a car to leave.

Voleti approached them, and after a verbal argument, fired shots into the vehicle, hitting Williams who was sitting in the front passenger seat.

Williams was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

Voleti drove away in a white BMW sedan which was later recovered near Lenox Village.  Voleti, who is considered armed and dangerous, may have fled in a different getaway vehicle.

Anyone with information on Voleti's location was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.  Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
