Shoppers are flooding into stores to take full advantage of the sales tax-free weekend, and that is turning into big money for some small businesses.
Pieces Boutique in Germantown is just one shop reporting an increase in revenue this weekend.
As kids head back to school, shoppers can save nearly ten-percent on clothing and school supplies that are less than $100 each.
For many, it was also a chance to support local businesses.
“Definitely,” said Joani Kreycik. “I think it's important to have them and support them, just to keep them here. Otherwise you do have to go to the mall, and you have to fight the traffic to get there.”
