A missing 85-year-old Watertown man was found dead after officials issued a silver alert.
Neighbors said they had not seen Edgar Roy Elliott since last Friday, Aug. 12.
A volunteer found him about one mile from his home on Neil Lane. Officials said Elliott appeared to have been thrown from the lawn mower he was riding.
Elliott was known for riding his yellow Cub Cadet riding lawn mower to around town. He could often be seen on the mower making stops at various locations throughout the town, but neighbors reported to police that they have not seen him or the lawn mower.
Elliott was last seen leaving his home on Neal Road, near the Watertown High School and Statesville Road areas.
