Officials with the Clarksville Police Department have canceled a Silver Alert for an elderly man after he was found safe in Florida.
Donald Wilson, 87, was reported missing by his wife Wednesday around 6 p.m., who said she last saw him when she dropped him off at the YMCA on Hillcrest Drive that morning around 8 a.m.
She told officers when she returned to pick him up around 9:45 a.m. she was told he had left with a friend, Vernie Hill.
However, Wilson never returned home. Around 6:30 p.m., Wilson's spouse spoke to him on the phone. During the conversation, he said he was on a bus to Florida.
Police in Orlando reported early Thursday morning that Wilson had been found safe.
