Officials with the Murfreesboro Police Department said a Silver Alert for a missing elderly man has been canceled.
Police said 83-year-old Benny L. Kirby was last seen at around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Uncle Sandy's store on South Church Street near Interstate 24 in Murfreesboro.
People helped him pump gas into his vehicle and called police due to his confused behavior. He was being reported missing to police when the call came in.
Thursday morning, authorities confirmed Kirby was found safe at a local Walmart on Joe B. Jackson Parkway. He was safely escorted home by officers.
