The cause of the crash was unclear at this time.
A man who did not want to be identified but lives nearby said he often sees crashes on the curve where the car was found.
"We've had many, many accidents have happened here up on this road," said the man.
There are several downed turn signs on the curve and tire tracks in the grass where it appears other cars have left the roadway.
"Most of the time it's minor, but just like how it was last night, it can turn into a really major fatality one," he said.
Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers confirmed two fatalities in the wreck. Neither victim was identified.
According to statistics from the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, there have been 403 crashes on Weakley Lane since 2014. Only two others were fatal, but according to a spokesperson, it's impossible to know how many of those happened around that specific corner.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is still investigating what happened.
