SAVANNAH, Tenn. (WTVF) — Officials say a 6-year-old girl has died after a boating collision in Hardin County that also killed her father.
The incident happened Saturday around 3 p.m. in the Dry Creek Cove area of Pickwick Lake.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said 40-year-old David Carter was killed in the collision. His daughter was airlifted to LeBonheur in Memphis, where she later died.
Officials said two personal watercrafts were involved in the wreck. It's unclear what caused the crash.
The driver of the other boat was not injured. The TWRA says the wreck is still under investigation.
