A winter storm slammed the Mid-State Region early Friday morning, bringing snow totals of up to 9 inches in some counties, but thankfully warm weather is on the way.

Chief Meteorologist Ron Howes and the National Weather Services said they expect Friday's storm to last through Saturday. The Winter Storm Warning will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Saturday.

Howes said snow may continue to fall in eastern and plateau counties throughout Saturday, but taper off by Saturday afternoon.

The cold temperatures were expected to stick around through the weekend. Temperatures were expected to hit 45 degrees Monday.

However, another round of sleet and snow is headed our way and expected to hit Middle Tennessee Tuesday; then another warm up through the rest of the week.
