Soldier Charged With Blowing Up Mailboxes

Two men have been arrested for a burglary and destroying mailboxes, and one of them is a Fort Campbell soldier

Officials with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested Clarksville resident Daniel L. Kordis and Ft. Campbell soldier Ethan D. English.

Detectives said both broke into several barns on Feb. 26 on John Rives Spur and damaged property including a pickup truck and two tractors.

The pair also confessed to deputies that they used  homemade bombs to destroy three mailboxes in the area of Long Pond Road.

Officials said the evidence suggested the bombs were made of PVC pipe and gunpowder.

The pair was charged with several things including burglary, criminal mischief and use of weapons of mass destruction.

Kordis was arrested on Wednesday and English was arrested Thursday, both were booked into the Christian Count jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
