NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Belmont students living in a handful of freshmen dorms have been displaced Wednesday and Thursday due to the presidential debate.

Students living in Wright, Maddox, Kennedy, Potter and Hail were asked to leave campus for 30 hours so that the Secret Service could secure campus for Thursday's event, according to the Belmont Vision.

Instead of their dorms, students will be staying at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center. The university will provide transportation, meals and internet access for the duration of the one-night stay. Students will stay with their current dorm roommates.

The university will also provide a large space for students to watch the debate together while still able to safely socially distance.
