According to the Safe Tennessee Project, In Tennessee this year there have been 28 unintentional shootings involving children. However, a product's been created that can help prevent it from happening in your home.

Mike Worley, an engineer found a different calling more than 20 years ago when he was living next door to a good friend in Georgia.

"One day his 4-year-old grandson found his loaded, unlocked micro Kimber, he pulled it out of the holster and pointed it at Sarah's, his 6-year-old sisters head and he pulled the trigger," Worley explained.

That day their community lost a little girl and Worley's friend spent more than a decade behind bars. However, from that incident Worley spent years creating the Safety Bullet.

"Anything to do with child safety you got my attention," said Dennis Mankin, owner of Learn 2 Shoot Training Academy in Murfreesboro. "Gun safes, gun locks are all fine and good but you can't get your gun out of a safe, get it unlocked quickly and easily," said Mankin.

He us currently the only distributor of the Safety Bullet in middle Tennessee.

"Kid gets a hold of your gun, they pull the trigger, now the gun is locked up. You're not doing anything with it," Mankin said.

It is a bullet that could save the life of a child. Here's how it works:
