McDonald's Nativity Scene Goes Viral

Posted

A Christmas scene painted on the window of a Spring Hill McDonald's has gone viral after someone posted about it on Facebook.

The painting on the Main Street McDonalds features the Christmas nativity scene with the saying "His name is Jesus" and "Rejoice" on either side.

Amy Basel, from Michigan, posted a picture of the window to her Facebook saying "Drove by and did a double-take. Growing up in the mitten, you would NEVER see this. Tennessee McDonald's...you made my day. "His name is Jesus."

Basel told NewsChannel 5 she moved to spring hill from Michigan a few months ago. When she took the picture she was in town visiting family for the holidays.

However her she said in an email, her viral post may cut her trip short. "[I] am thinking about flying back for a day because some national headliners want an interview. Crazy lol," said Basel.

The religious statement quickly made it's rounds on social media, and went viral within days.

It came on the heels of a so-called "war on Christmas" by Starbucks' red holiday cups. Rather than using a Christmas or holiday design, the company's coffee cups were colored a bright solid red.
