A man has been accused of firing a weapon at police officers.
Authorities with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said they began investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened with officials from the Harriman Police Department.
The investigation began on March 8 leading TBI special agents to obtain an indictment for 26-year-old Nathan Manis, of Harriman.
According to reports, two officers had encountered Manis when they responded to a disturbance call. That’s when Manis allegedly got out a handgun and fired at the officers.
The officials returned fire and hit Manis once.
Manis has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.
He was already in jail in Roane County on unrelated charges.
