The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released the names of two pedestrians killed after a vehicle drove through a barricade at the Rockabilly Highway Revival Festival.
Lieutenant Brad Wilbanks said in an email Sunday that 62-year-old Michael L. Johnson of Selmer and 51-year-old Sherri R. Duncan of Henderson were killed Saturday.
Wilbanks said the driver of the vehicle, 91-year-old Aaron D. Stamey of Hornsby, and an 86-year-old female passenger were injured.
Wilbanks said the vehicle went through a barricade and struck Johnson and Duncan at a Selmer intersection before striking three other vehicles. Media outlets reported the pair was engaged to be married.
In June 2007, a dragster slammed into a crowd of spectators on a street during a charity car show in Selmer, killing six and injuring 22.
