The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been looking into an officer-involved shooting in Ripley, where two people were wounded by police and an officer was injured.
TBI agents said a preliminary investigation showed the shootings took place after officers stopped a vehicle while in search of a man on the TBI's Top 10 Most Wanted List.
Authorities said a female driver, trying to get away from police, reversed the vehicle toward an officer. Those with the TBI said the officer fired shots at the vehicle before he was struck by the car. The woman, according to authorities, drove forward toward two other responding officers, who then fired into the vehicle.
Officials said the suspects were not believed to have life-threatening injuries and the officer was flown to a hospital in Memphis.
