Authorities have been looking for a man who was involved in a crash that killed four people on Highway 58 in Meigs County.

According to a news release from district attorney Russell Johnson's office, four occupants of two vehicles were killed Friday after being struck by a trailer that disconnected from the dump truck that was towing it.

The news release said the truck was traveling southbound on Highway 58, about two miles south of Decatur, when the trailer disconnected and hit the vehicles, which were traveling northbound.

The district attorney's office said the Tennessee Highway Patrol and several other agencies have been searching for 34-year-old John Wesley Bennett. According to media reports, the highway patrol said he was the driver of the truck.

Saturday, authorities released the names of those who were killed in the crash.

Traveling in a 2008 Nissan Max, both 38-year-old Andrew T. Blackford, of Murfreesboro, and 37-year-old Samantha E. Norris, of Maynardville, were killed.

Also killed in the crash were 36-year-old Christopher S. Denton and 62-year-old Paula M. Stevens, both of Dunlap. They had been traveling in a 1995 Nissan PFI.
