NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Federal, state, and local Nashville law enforcement agencies announced the arrest of 44 people following a major crackdown on the illegal sale of guns and drugs throughout multiple Nashville hot spots.
"Operation Last Call" combined the efforts of the U.S. Attorney's Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the U.S. Marshals, and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
In total, over 150 firearms, over two kilograms of methamphetamine, over one kilogram of fentanyl, and over half-kilogram quantities of cocaine were seized in the operation, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Undercover federal agents made controlled gun and drug purchases in multiple areas of Nashville. According to a release, the areas were decided after a years-long review of shots fired calls and shooting crimes.
27 of the 44 people arrested had previous felony convictions, with 10 defendants arrested who were on probation, parole, supervised relea, or bond.
