NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Nashville motorcyclist was killed Monday after losing control and crashing on an interstate exit ramp, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
MNPD identified the motorcyclist as Jason Gooch, 46, of Nashville.
Gooch worked as a recreational leader at Hartman Community Center, according to Metro Nashville Parks and Recreation.
The department said Gooch inspired both adults and children through his work and was dedicated to serving and uplifting others.
“His dedication, kindness, and commitment to serving others will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of working with him,” Metro Parks said in a statement.
Police said the crash happened around noon on the I-440 exit ramp to I-24 East. A preliminary investigation found Gooch was riding a Kawasaki ZX6 when he lost control in a curve.
The motorcycle traveled onto the left shoulder before crashing into the cable barrier median, according to MNPD.
Gooch was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died.
Police said there were no signs of impairment at the scene.
