A Tennessee man said he's found a way to combat ISIS and support those fighting on the ground.
A warehouse in Decatur has been brimming with supplies for members of the Kurdish Peshmerga.
This has been the third shipment Freedom Express organizer, Tom Kelly, has helped send.
"Anti-itch cream, allergy pills, oral analgesic gel, only things that are a buck here, that the Kurdish Peshmerga don't have,” Kelly said. “They're fighting on the front lines, the only affective fighting force right now that's keeping ISIS at bay, and they don't have any of this stuff."
Most of the items came from local hospitals and military bases that couldn't use it.
It is enough to outfit an entire field hospital.
Kelly has visited the Middle East frequently and said he wants his retirement to have purpose.
"It's a way to do something when a lot of us feel lost, wondering what we can do," Kelly said.
Kelly has asked anyone who wants to help to purchase products by the case from Dollar Tree.
They offer free shipping to other stores. To contact Kelly by email, click here.
