Posted

A former officer with the Martin Police Department has been arrested and charged in a theft investigation.

Authorities with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said they discovered an alleged theft of approximately $18,000 from a bank account that had been established as part of the “Day for Anna Kate” fundraising effort.

Officials added there were multiple times in 2015 records showed money had been taken from the account.

The account had been established by 34-year-old Guy Pryor, who had been a police officer in Martin. Authorities discovered Pryor was responsible for the theft.

Agents, along with deputies from Glynn County, Georgia, arrested Pryor and charged him with one count of theft over $10,000. He was being held in Georgia awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
