Posted

Deputies have been searching for a gunman they said held up a bank in DeKalb County.

The incident happened around just after 8 a.m. Wednesday at Liberty State Bank when someone, believed to be a man, ran into the bank, approached the teller, and displayed a weapon.

The teller complied with the gunman's demands, and the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported.

A witness called authorities right after the robbery took place.

Officials described the gunman as what appeared to be a white male, standing around 5’6” tall, wearing a red jacket with a hood on it.

A deputy with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, and Alexandria Police assisted.

Authorities said the incident remained under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
