A 23-year-old Chattanooga man has been charged with criminal homicide for fatally injuring an unborn child. Chattanooga Police said he beat the child's mother, a 15-year-old pregnant girl.

Chattanooga Police said Justin Armour attacked the girl on Tuesday in a vacant house. The Chattanooga Times Free Press reported she gave birth to the couple's stillborn baby early Wednesday morning.

The girl, who was not identified because she is a minor, was five months pregnant.

Police said Armour locked the girl in a bedroom and beat her repeatedly throughout the day and into the night.

Armour has been charged with criminal homicide, domestic assault, and false imprisonment. Police expected to file more charges as the investigation continued. He was being held in the Hamilton County Jail on a $750,000 bond.
