Officials have released the name of the pilot who died after crashing a single-engine plane at an airport in East Tennessee.
A statement from the City of Sevierville said 62-year-old Ray Allen Irwin of Kodak died in the crash Thursday at the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport in Sevierville. No one else was hurt.
When rescue crews arrived, they found the Beechcraft Bonanza on fire and quickly extinguished the blaze. The release said authorities think Irwin was trying to land when he crashed.
The National Transportation Safety Board has been at the scene investigating the cause of the crash.
