The pilot of a single-engine plane has died after crashing at an airport in East Tennessee.
Bob Stahlke, the spokesman for the City of Sevierville, told media the plane crashed Thursday in a wooded area near the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport in Sevierville as it attempted to land.
The name of the pilot wasn't immediately released. No one else was hurt.
Stahlke said the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration were at the scene and would investigate the crash.
