Police in Chattanooga said they're investigating two damaged vehicles outside a Jewish cultural center, including one that was severely burned.
No one was injured. Authorities were called to the center early Sunday. Chattanooga police spokesman Kyle Miller said fire officials have asked the police department to lead the investigation.
Media outlets reported police have notified the FBI and have been looking for evidence to determine whether a hate crime occurred.
Miller said police plan to increase patrols at Jewish centers and synagogues.
