A man was facing five years in prison after he pled guilty to arson.

Officials said 43-year-old Grady John Kincer pleaded guilty to one count of arson on December 21 in Van Buren County Circuit Court.

The plea related to a fire on August 24, 2013 that Kincer admitted he started at a home in Spencer.

Authorities said, in addition to the jail sentence, Kincer has been told he must pay court costs and restitution to the victim for any losses not covered by insurance.

“The Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to arson and arson-related crimes,” Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance Deputy Director Gary West said.

No further details about the fire were released. Officials said anyone who suspects arson can contact the Tennessee Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017.
