Store Owner Arrested After Allegedly Hiding Camera In Bathroom

A La Vergne man was arrested after police said he put a surveillance camera in his business' bathroom.

Officers arrested 69-year-old Bruce Burgess on Nov. 2. He owns My Southern Charm, a vintage shop on Gil Street.

According to officials with the Smyrna Police Department, Burgess put a hidden camera in the bathroom and stored the video on a computer.

A customer noticed the camera in the bathroom and called police. The camera was disguised as an air freshener with the labels "Airwick" and "Clean Linen" placed on it.

Burgess was charged with photographing in violation of privacy and observation without consent.Detectives were processing the evidence to determine if more charges will be filed.
