NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Strong storms will be possible Saturday afternoon which has prompted a Storm 5 Alert.

Showers and storms moving in this morning and it looks like we will get two waves throughout the day. The first round of rain in the morning is not concerning for severe potential.

A second round rain and storms will start to fire up by lunchtime through the early evening. While a strong storm can't be ruled out for the entire area, it looks like the area with the best potential for a stronger storm would be east of I-65 where the Storm Prediction Center has highlighted in a Slight Risk (level 2 of 5).

Timing: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

The threat for an isolated tornado is low. Damaging wind and hail will be our primary concern with any strong storms that gets going.
