(WTVF) — Our wet weekend is well underway. Rain will increase in intensity during the overnight hours Friday with some heavy pockets at times. Not much thunder is expected with this system, although a few rumbles can't be ruled out.
Key things to be prepared for Saturday are wind and more rain. The heaviest rain will likely fall very early Saturday with a lull in the intensity mid-morning through the early afternoon hours. A cold front will swing through during the afternoon and evening hours bringing the final blow of soaking rain across the area.
Which brings us to the wind. Expect very breezy conditions on Saturday with sustained wind out of the South between 15-20 mph gusting up to 35 mph. Dry conditions return Sunday and into the first few days of next week.
