NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A 16-year old server got to talking to two out-of-town customers. He said his family had been going through a tough time, so much so, he had to miss his high school prom.
That’s where the kindness of strangers came into the picture. Those two customers, with the help of many others, threw a surprise prom for the teen, named Shane, Friday night.
Tiffany and Meredith were the two customers who got to talking with Shane earlier in May and knew they had to do something.
They asked Shane's bosses at Uncle Bud's if they could throw him a prom. Then they created a gofundme account to help Shane's family with some extra cash.
They greatly exceeded the $100 and surprised Shane with a prom of his own.
“There's a lot of things that, I think, negativity in this world,” Meredith said, “and I feel like people who are joyful and positive and do just amazing at their job and have a sweet spirit, they need to be recognized.”
Shane and his 40 new friends danced the night away!
