Cheatham County School officials and law enforcement officials have responded to a school threat.
School officials said the student who made the threat was identified and disciplined.
The following statement was released to parents:
Parents and students of Cheatham Middle School, thank you for your patience and support during our investigation and lockout.
A suspect has been identified and the investigation is complete. Appropriate legal action and school-related discipline are being taken.
All regular school activities will proceed as planned tonight and tomorrow.
Any student making a threat will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
As we continue to partner in maintaining a safe learning environment, please help reinforce that making a threat, including those without intent, will lead to significant consequences.
