NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Norma Binkley Elementary students went home with free books Monday thanks to the "If You Give a Child a Book..." campaign and book fair.

NewsChannel 5 is proud to have been a part of the Scripps Howard Foundation's book campaign, in which students receive two free books.

Donations from our staff were matched by the Scripps Howard Foundation providing more than enough books for kids to choose from.

NewsChannel 5's Nick Beres, Adam Hammond, Rebecca Schleicher, and Henry Rothenberg all helped out by reading to the kids Monday morning.

Since 2017, the Scripps Howard Foundation has distributed more than 180,000 new books to children in need across the nation on National Reading Day as part of its annual “If You Give a Child a Book …” campaign.
