Students Suffer Minor Injuries In Nashville School Bus Crash

Multiple students suffered minor injuries in a school bus crash in South Nashville involving two buses.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Fire Department said six students were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with minor injuries.

The two buses involved were Bus 17-76 and Bus 16-83. The students were from May Werthan Shayne Elementary.

One student, who suffered a head injury, was not transported but was rather checked out by EMTs.

It happened in the area of Old Hickory Blvd. and Nolensville Road. The other students that were on the bus put on another school bus.

The cause of the crash was unclear. 

Four of the six students were released later in the afternoon. The other two remaining patients were listed as stable.
