NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee has been named among the most unsafe places to live, according to a new study.

A study by WalletHub ranked Tennessee as the 48th safest state in which to live.

WalletHub used statistics such as crime rates, traffic crashes, employer insurance coverage and climate disasters for a basis.

The study also took into consideration states with the most budget-friendly environments, in which Tennessee fared far better coming in at number 36.

However, Tennessee also had the third highest number of assaults, and was ranked 48th for natural disasters.
