NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police say a 24-year-old man has been charged with child rape and sexual battery in connection with the sexual assault of an 8-year-old girl while he was an instructor at her summer camp.

According to an affidavit from Metro police, the first incident happened in 2018, with the latest encounters happening in July. Police say Joshua Webb has been booked on seven counts of child rape and one count of sexual battery in the case.

According to investigators, the child reportedly disclosed to a friend that Webb had been touching her inappropriately, and they went to police.

The police report said during questioning, Webb admitted that between February and July 2020, he had sexual contact with the child in the back of a bus while they were on their way to field trips around Goodlettsville.

Police say Webb also admitted to sexually assaulting the girl in the seating area of the Rivergate Skate Center last month.

He was held in Davidson County Jail on $1.85 million bond. His photo was not immediately available.
