GALLATIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Sumner County Museum is looking for ways to document what it is like living through the COVID-19 pandemic, and is asking the community to help.

Museum organizers are asking people in Sumner county to submit their stories, letters or photos about what it's like to be living during COVID-19. Director Ryan Baker said he submissions could be anything related to COVID-19, from how families are coping with the shutdowns to stories of people helping others in need. Baker said the museum had already received dozens of submissions.

"I’d say somewhere between 30 to 40 submissions," Baker said.

Baker said those submissions would someday be turned into an exhibit about the virus in Sumner County; an area that has been hit especially hard by COVID-19. As of Wednesday afternoon, 27 people in Sumner County had died from the novel coronavirus.

"COVID has affected everybody in one way or another," Baker said. "We would like to be able to help future researchers be able to learn about it and to tell stories to future generations."

If you live in Sumner County and would like to submit your accounts of living during the COVID-19 pandemic, you can email the museum at covid@sumnercountymuseum.org
