NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man has been taken into custody after he allegedly attacked his neighbor with a bat and a knife south of Nashville.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday on Lewis Street.
Officials with Metro Police said the victim was getting out of his car when his neighbor, identified as Cedric White, came over and began attacking him.
The victim was able to get out of the car and make it to his front porch, where he began fighting back. He got the upper hand on White and detained him until police arrived.
Police said the victim was stabbed in the arm during the altercation. White was also seen being loaded into the back of an ambulance and had injuries to his face. They were both taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The victim’s name was not released.
White allegedly told police he attacked his neighbor because he made homophobic comments towards him.
White has been taken to the Metro Jail where he was booked on numerous charges.
