A person was caught on camera after allegedly trying to burglarize a jewelry store in Franklin, but failed when they couldn't get into the building.
Franklin Police detectives have asked for the public’s help in identifying the suspect jewelry story burglar.
The Platinum Jewelers on Jordan road was hit just before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
When officers arrived, they found the back door of Pawfect Puppy standing open.
The adjoining wall between it and the jewelry store was severely damaged. The suspect had apparently tried to get into the store but failed and left empty-handed.
The suspect also cut phone lines and fiber optic cables in a utility box, at the intersection of Jordan and Mallory, before his attempt to disable the alarm.
The cut left 600 AT&T customers without service for an extended period of time, until repairs could be made.
Detectives released surveillance video, of the masked suspect, hoping someone may recognize his posture or gate, or that a passer-by may have noticed something Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning that might help investigators.
