LaValley, 29, was shot multiple times after answering a call about a suspicious person at a home in Shreveport's Queensborough neighborhood Wednesday night.

Lavalley was taken to University Health, where he died a short time later.

At the time of his arrest in connection with LaValley's death, Cannon was wanted on a warrant for second-degree attempted murder.
