The court appearance for a woman charged with killing a 14-year-old boy has been rescheduled for Friday.

A review hearing was set for 25-year-old Shatara Jones on Tuesday afternoon. The hearing has been rescheduled for Friday morning.

It would be the first appearance at the Davidson County Criminal Court since her arrest over the weekend.

Jones admitted to shooting and killing 14-year-old Ladarrius Gentry Friday night at Knollcrest Apartments on Cheekwood Drive.

Investigators with the Metro Nashville Police Department said Jones met with Gentry to buy drugs. The two got into some kind of dispute and she reportedly shot him several times.

Gentry died at the hospital. According to autopsy reports, Gentry was shot three times.

Surveillance video showed Jones getting out of a maroon van. It was initially reported by witnesses that Gentry got out of the van, shot Gentry in the chest and then drove away.

The driver of the van has been questioned, but had not been charged. It was not clear if the driver would face charges.

Police released an image of Jones and the van, and asked for help from the public to locate the shooter. Jones’ mother called a chaplain with the Metro Police who spoke to her and made arrangements for her to turn herself in.

Jones was charged with criminal homicide.
