NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The public’s assistance has been requested to identify a man who digitally raped a female in her apartment.

Officials released a sketch of the suspect. They said he allegedly raped the 24-year-old victim in her residence at Brentridge Apartments in South Nashville.

The man entered the apartment through an unlocked door late Sunday night, appearing in the victim’s bedroom around 10:55 p.m.

According to the victim, the suspect appeared about a minute after her boyfriend left to go to the laundry room a few buildings away. Officials said that meant he may have been watching her apartment building.

The victim reported she screamed as the man began assaulting her, and he placed his hand over her mouth, telling her to be quiet before fleeing quickly.

A police dog’s attempt to track the suspect down was unsuccessful.

Authorities described the suspect as a man of Hispanic descent, standing around 5’7’’ and weighing approximately 140 pounds. They said he was wearing a gray T-shirt, shorts, and white cotton gloves.

Detectives said they’ve been investigating whether this assault could be related to a similar incident that happened on the morning of April 20 at Brandywine Apartments off Edmondson Pike.

Anyone with information on this suspect has been urged to call the police department’s Sex Crimes Unit at 615-862-7540 or Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
