Suspect Sought After Woman Allegedly Attacked On Greenway

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Metro detectives said they need the public’s help finding a man who they said attacked a woman on a city greenway.

The 24-year-old female victim said the man grabbed her on the greenway near the 5100 block of Harding Place.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. Monday when the woman said the man knocked her down and tried to pull her into the woods by her ankles.

According to the victim, she repeatedly kicked the suspect until she was able to run away.

The suspect was described as a bald, black male in his late 20s or early 30s. The victim reported he stood around 6'1'' tall and weighed approximately 160 pounds.

The man was wearing a black t-shirt and had a pistol in his waistband. The victim said the suspect never pulled out the gun. He also smelled of alcohol, according to the woman.

Officials said these circumstances have been rare with this being the first reported incident of its kind on a Nashville greenway this year.
