A suspect was able to get away with a handful of cash after robbing a convenience store in Nashville.
The incident was reported around 1 a.m. Wednesday at a Thorntons on Lebanon Pike.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the gunman acted as if he was going to buy something, but instead pulled out a handgun when he got up to the cash register.
Police said the suspect fired a shot in the air as he made his way towards a nearby Big Lots.
The man was wearing a grey hoodie with a fur lining and dark sleeves. He was also wearing grey sweatpants and white tennis shoes.
K9 officers tracked him down to a wooded area at the property next door but ultimately lost the scent.
