NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The search for a suspect is underway west of Nashville after a man was shot multiple times in an apparent home invasion.
The incident happened around midnight Monday, at the Village West apartment complex on Tennessee Avenue.
Officials with Metro Police said the suspect came into the home, pulled out a gun and demanded money from two people inside the unit.
The gunman was apparently able to get inside the residence through an unlocked door.
At some point, an altercation broke out and the suspect began shooting, striking the victim three times. The man was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is in stable condition.
His identity was not known.
No suspect description was immediately available.
It was not known if the victims were targeted or if it was a random incident.
Police have not released whether the suspect got away with anything from inside the home.
