WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVF) — A manhunt in Williamson County has finally come to an end, as authorities successfully apprehended Roni Johnson, the suspect described by police as "armed and dangerous."
The incident unfolded overnight leaving two individuals, including his wife, brutally stabbed.
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office launched an immediate search for Johnson, following the reports of the stabbing incidents.
Jerome Cotton, the victim's nephew, said he received a call early Wednesday morning, instructing him to rush to his grandmother's house in Spring Hill.
"Walked up in the yard, blood on my granny's van, blood on her house. Something you just see on TV thinking it would never happen to your family."
The motive behind the vicious attacks remains unknown, leaving the family and the community at large seeking answers and grappling with shock and disbelief.
What aspire to stab two people you know what I'm saying that's the part that we’re trying to understand. I don't get it, and then to have it at my grandma's house, I mean he could have taken any turn," Cotton said.
Williamson County officials reported that Johnson is suspected of stabbing two individuals overnight, prompting a city-wide manhunt to bring him to justice.
The last known sighting of the suspect placed him in the area of Duplex Road and Lee Road, setting off a frantic search by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.
From the early hours of the morning until close to one in the afternoon, law enforcement spared no effort in the search, with aerial patrols, K-9 units, and officers on the ground scouring a wooded area looking for Johnson.
However, despite more than 12 hours of intense searching, there were no sightings of Johnson, leading authorities to call off the search.
In a surprising turn of events, Johnson was spotted about an hour and a half after the official search was halted, leading to his arrest.
He is now in custody, facing multiple charges in connection with the stabbing incidents.
One victim was treated and released. The other is being treated at an area hospital.
