NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police say one person has died in a collision with a WeGo public transit bus.
The crash happened at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday on Old Hickory Boulevard between Brick Church Pike and Dickerson Pike.
Metro Nashville police said it appears the driver of the SUV crossed into the path of the bus. That driver, identified as 29-year-old John M. Irwin, of Clarksville, died at the scene.
Police said the bus driver had non-critical injuries. The two passengers on the bus were not hurt.
WeGo Public Transit says there will be no service on Old Hickory Boulevard between Brick Church Pike and Dickerson Pike until further notice.
DETOUR: Due to an incident on 43 Hickory Hills, there will be no service on Old Hickory Boulevard between Brick Church Pike and Dickerson Pike until further notice.
